This free training gives participants a basic understanding of trauma, a definition of trauma, how common it is, and how it can show up in individuals’ lives. It also examines the key concepts of trauma-informed care and how to establish systems that foster safety and support.
The training also addresses the toll that exposure to trauma can have on those in helping roles.
Whether working directly with individuals who have experienced trauma or within systems where trauma is present, helpers can be affected by the weight of others’ experiences. Participants will gain practical tools and strategies to recognize, acknowledge, and respond to signs of compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, and burnout.
