One Simple Way to Support Mental Health in Massachusetts
Over the past several years we have solidified contracts allowing us to provide mental health programming at no cost to workplaces and community-based organizations across Massachusetts, developed through partnerships the Stay Strong Boston initiative, to help residents cope in the aftermath of the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombings, and have provided needed suicide prevention program trainings to middle and high schools in our area.
This August, Assembly Row, a neighborhood for shopping and dining in Somerville, Massachusetts, will be hosting their second annual #RowitForward competition. Over the course of two weeks (August 10-23), every dollar spent at Assembly Row (i.e., shopping, dining, seeing a movie, etc.) can translate into points earned toward the local non-profit of your choice. Shoppers simply must bring their receipts to the Assembly Row Welcome Center (Monday-Thursday, 10am-9pm, Friday and Saturday 10am-10pm, Sunday 11am-7pm) and the nonprofit with the most points at the end of the two weeks is eligible to win a grand prize of $20,000.
Mental Health is a growing issue in our country but it can be hard to know how to get involved. This competition is an easy way to show your support for mental health resources in Massachusetts while doing everyday activities like back to school shopping or going out to dinner with your family. Please consider taking some time between August 10th and 23rd to make a difference. Simple actions can have a huge impact.
